“You must constantly change and adapt to a new environment.” – Jong-Yong Yun
After our drive to LA, it felt good to get a good night’s rest. Morning always manages to creep up on you when you least expect it to. Thankfully, the day ahead was pretty exciting.
Carlene was in LA at the office in meetings till the afternoon so to buy some time we made a stop at The Universal Studios Theme Park. Although a few hours was not enough, and definitely requires going back, it was a heck of an experience. So many people walking around, bumping against you, shoulders touching yours as they rush past you to get to the next place. The Harry Potter World is currently being built but it looks like something spectacular. Dark and gloomy but that’s what makes the setting perfect. We even got to see the Waterworld show, fires and canons, and some extremely fit guys in shorts swimming around and climbing up a really impressively built set.
Lunch was spectacular, we took a walk down to Springfield, grabbed some chicken fingers and curly fries. If you didn’t catch that sentence, that’s a little sad. I turned myself into a Simpson and got to eat lunch in one of the restaurants from the show. Got it now?
After a very eventful day, we made our way to downtown LA to fetch Carlene, and our journey began. Our road trip had officially began, making our way through the Valley – have you ever heard girls drag words when they speak: “Liiiike oooh my gosh, I reeeeally want some starrrbucks but it’s like so far from my house and I really don’t feel like driving all the way down therrrre.” hahaha that’s kinda the stuff I was saying in my head while we were driving through, I just wanted to be a valley girl once in my life. DON’T JUDGE ME!
Down under and up to Malibu, my first thought, besides how pretty the sea and the sunset was, was this little sign I saw that said Pacific something, ZOEY 101. Ya’ll remember that show? Where all the 90s kids at? I loved Zoey 101, and being in Malibu made me think about it, and how me going to PCA never happened, nor will it ever happen. BUMMER!
Our last stop of the night was a little town in Santa Barbara, Mexican for dinner and a fluffy pillow. As exciting as seeing so many new places might be, it sure does make you tired.
I’ll be waiting for the sun to kiss my face, until then sweet dreams to the night owls, good day to the hard workers, and good morning to the grinders.
xoxo ♥
